According to some professors at The Wharton School of Business, 33% of creating a super successful business is plain ole’ luck. The other 66% is divided between perfect execution and a great product/service.
Now I don’t know about you, but those are some tough odds to beat. If you were to possibly expand this idea that 33% of being successful in business is luck, is it safe to say that potentially 2/3 or 66/100 businesses are not going to be wildly successful?
The second thing I think about is what is success? What does it look like? Do you want your business to be wildly success or just “kind of” successful? Do your chances of success increase if you just want to be “kind of” successful?
I am not sure I know the answer to these questions. What I do know is each of us measure success in various ways and it is up to you to determine what is the outcome you want for your organization.
